There are many trips or tours that can be arranged for the Greenwood Men's Group. Here are a few possibilities to consider. If you see something you like, let us know -- if there's enough interest, we can set up a group trip or tour.
A ferry trip to Bainbridge Island is always fun. And there's plenty to do once you get there.
Take a scenic one-hour ferry ride to Bremerton. When you get
there, you have lots of options. Take a tour of the Vietnam-era naval destroyer
USS Turner Joy, visit Harborside
Fountain Park, or stop in at the Puget
Sound navy museum.
The Burke Museum cares for and shares natural and cultural collections. They have working labs you can see into, one-of-a-kind objects all around you, and galleries filled with curiosity and conversation. A truly unique and wonderful place!
The Dunn Gardens, started in 1916, is a magnificent privately owned garden on 7.5-acres that slope gently down to Puget Sound. It is reminiscent of an English woodland garden.
Equinox Studios is a community-owned "Creative Industrial Complex" that is home to over 125 tenants, dance and performance spaces, and painting schools. It hosts individuals or small companies involved in crafts of various sorts.
Equinox Studios has an Open House every December. Many artisans are on hand to show their interesting and unique stuff – and answer questions. Also some weird equipment to look at and possibly see a few artisans at work. They have bon fires to ward off the winter chill. And food trucks.
It's a truly unique facility and there are things you've not seen before. A great idea for a men's event, especially now that we have a van available for transportation.
This is Seattle's largest cemetery, in operation since 1885. It is rich in historical artifacts and gravestones. It is located at 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle.
Every summer, a spectacle known as the Seattle Fleet Week occurs in Seattle. The celebration starts with the Parade of Ships through Elliot Bay, followed by a week of events where the public is invited to meet sailors and guardsmen and take tours of their ships. It is associated with the annual SeaFair event.
The Henry is a museum for contemporary art and ideas. It's the only museum dedicated to contemporary art in our region. It is internationally recognized for groundbreaking exhibitions, for being on the cutting edge of contemporary art and culture, and for championing artists at every level of creation.
The Holocaust Center for Humanity teaches the lessons of the Holocaust, inspiring students of all ages to confront bigotry and indifference, promote human dignity, and take action.
Kubota Garden is a stunning 20-acre landscape that blends Japanese garden concepts with native Northwest plants. It is a place of respite and beauty for everyone to enjoy. Truly unique! Visit the garden in each season to experience its wealth of colors and textures.
Take advantage of Free First Thursday at MOHAI and "always free every day" at the Center for Wooden Boats. Take the bus downtown and catch the Seattle Streetcar to Lake Union Park. Check out MOHAI’s many interesting exhibits and a short tour of the CFWB. Check out Gourmondo, the museum’s café for lunch or a snack.
The Museum of Flight is the largest independent, non-profit air and space museum in the world. It has over 175 aircraft and spacecraft, tens of thousands of artifacts, millions of rare photographs, dozens of exhibits and experiences and a world-class library. If this is a topic of interest to you, it's a "must see".
The National Nordic Museum is the only institution of its size and scale in the United States to present the history and culture of the entire Nordic region. Included are Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the regions of the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland, and the cultural region of Sápmi). There is an interesting section about the legacy of Nordic immigrants to the United States.
The Olympic Sculpture Park is a nine-acre green space that has 20
monumental pieces of outdoor art. It's an opportunity to experience a variety
of sculpture in an outdoor setting, while enjoying the incredible views and
beauty of the Olympic mountains and Puget Sound. While you're there, be sure to
check out the amazing Neukom Vivarium nurse

Private Eye Tours has offered unique tours of Seattle's dark history, mysteries, true crime and hauntings. The tours are scenic, historical and entertaining. They offer five different tours that cover various sections of Seattle.
The Seattle Aquarium is the region’s premier resource for hands-on marine experiences and conservation education. If you're interested in marine creatures and marine conservation, the Aquarium is a "must see" experience.
The newly renovated and expanded Seattle Asian Art Museum breaks boundaries to offer a thematic, rather than geographic or chronological, exploration of art from the world’s largest continent. The restoration of the historic Art Deco building, improvements to critical systems, expanded gallery and education spaces, and a new park lobby that connects the museum to the surrounding Volunteer Park are just some of the ways the museum has been transformed and preserved as a cultural and community resource for future generations.
The Seattle Japanese Garden is a 3.5 acre urban sanctuary. Winding gravel paths and stone benches invite you to view the garden slowly and mindfully, in all of its detail - rock, water, lanterns, bridges, buildings, plants and animals. Seasonal changes are constant and every visit refreshingly unique. The Garden is located at 1075 E Lake Washington Blvd in the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle.
The main library in downtown Seattle is an unique place. Tours are available. Learn about the history of the building, see highlights from the collection and take in the views from the top floor.
The Stimson-Green Mansion is an exceptional example of early twentieth century English Tudor Revival style architecture located in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. It’s run by the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, which provides regular tours of this designated Seattle landmark.
The University of Washington Planetarium presents dynamic and interactive shows. The planetarium has a 30-foot fully digital dome with an 8-million-pixel display that captures an accurate view of the night sky. Tours are available.
The Wing Luke Museum is an art and history museum that focuses on the culture, art and history of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Located in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District, it is the only pan-Asian Pacific American community-based museum in the United States.
Explore a very different part of Seattle. The Water Taxi sails between downtown and West Seattle. The trip takes an average of 10-15 minutes each way. Easily connect to the waterfront pathway and accessible shuttles to Alki Beach Park. You can also take a tour of the Log House Museum, a Seattle historic landmark.
