March 9: Visit the Herons, 2pm, Commodore Park

Herons Rich's PhotoThe Herons are Here! (Rich's photo)

Hot news! The herons are back! Rich spotted at least 30 nests being made on Feb. 17 in the Commodore Park rookery. It's a great time to check out the activity before tree leaves get in the way of viewing their nests.

Hopefully, we'll witness courtship displays such as bill duels, neck stretching, feather fluffing and on-going nest building and remodeling. Bring your binoculars for a closer look. Click here for more information about the herons.
